She-Hulk’s Mother
Elaine Banner Walters is Bruce Banner’s aunt and the sister of his father Brian. Her actual full name is Elaine Ann Banner Walters. She is also the mother of She-Hulk, Jennifer Walters. Just like her husband Morris, Elaine played a minimal part in Bruce’s life. Yet, her influence of Jennifer can not be taken for granted.
Elaine meets Morris
Elaine met Morris Walters and they fell in love. They soon got married and Elaine took on her husband’s surname. They soon had a baby girl and named her Jennifer. Morris hoped that Jennifer would become a police woman, but Elaine Banner Walters supported her daughter’s ambitions to become a professional dancer. She often reprimanded Morris for being too controlling of Jennifer’s life.
The Death of Elaine Ann Banner Walters
Her husband Morris, the Sheriff of the Los Angeles police force, had many enemies. The biggest by far was the mobster Nicholas Trask. Trask wanted Morris killed and planned out a murder. However, his plan failed and ended up killing Elaine Walters. Trask had directed his men to manipulate a drunk driver into smashing Morris’car. The intended target wasn’t there, Elaine had been driving to one of Jennifer’s dance recital with two of her friends. Obviously, all three died. During Elaine’s funeral, Trask sent red roses to express his joy. He was quite happy to have brought pain to his enemy!
Elaine Banner Walters, Guardian Angel
After her death, Elaine watched over her family from heaven. She was the first family member to know that Jennifer had become the She-Hulk. Elaine Ann witnessed from above as Bruce Banner gave Jennifer the blood transfusion that would change Jennifer’s life forever. Jennifer was able to meet her mother in the after life when the She-Hulk momentarily died. Elaine Banner Walters took advantage of this moment to give her daughter a necklace. The She-Hulk discovered that she had never gotten over the death of her mother.
